Ifugao: People of the Cordilleras
The Therese Hermosisima Finnegan Collection
The Ifugao Collection is a cultural exhibit dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of the Ifugao people of the Cordillera Mountain Region in Northern Philippines. Through this collection, visitors are invited to experience the artistry, spirituality, traditions, and daily life of one of the Philippines’ most celebrated indigenous communities.
Featuring bulols (rice guardians), ritual objects, woven textiles, baskets, tools, tribal accessories, and handcrafted artifacts, the exhibit reflects the deep connection between the Ifugao people, their ancestral lands, and their centuries-old traditions. These treasured pieces represent not only artistic craftsmanship, but also the enduring values, beliefs, and identity of a people shaped by the world-renowned Rice Terraces of the Philippines.
Our exhibits will showcase the depth, artistry, and resilience of the Filipino experience, from the islands to the global diaspora.
Through rotating displays of art, photography, artifacts, and personal stories, we aim to capture the history and heart of a people whose culture bridges past and present.
